Stand Up Paddleboarding

Stand Up Paddleboarding

Stand up paddlesboards (SUPs) can be used on all of the sessions and courses shown below.

Equipment hire

The price of the ‘Come and Try’ session includes equipment hire; for all other sessions equipment hire is not included in the price. We have some equipment we can hire directly (see here for prices) and we work with local hire companies where appropriate to make sure you have everything you need.

Please note that buoyancy aids are mandatory for all kayakers and canoeists, and advisory for paddleboarders.

Start of season refresher

Many of us are keen to get back on the water after what has sometimes felt like a long and cold winter. The sun is shining, the temperatures climbing and we’re itching to get out and afloat.

This session is designed for people who know how to paddle, but would benefit either from having someone look out for them as they get back on their board for the first time after many months in the garage, or just need reminding of the good habits and practices that we might have forgotten since last season.

So we’ll skip the stuff about how to hold the paddle and where to stand on the paddleboard, but we’ll recap on good forward paddling techniques, revise top tips on turning and if you’d like someone there when you try to stand up on a paddleboard for the first time in 6 months – we’ll make sure we’ve got your back !
